What is "Joshua's Law"?

"Joshuas Law" is a common nickname for Senate Bill 226. It was passed in 2005 and effects all Georgia teen drivers. As of January 1st 2007, all 16 year old teens that wish to apply for a class D driver's license must complete a DDS approved driver education course.

Joshua's Law Course Requirements

The requirements to satisfy Joshua's Law are to complete 40 hours of supervised driving (6 of which must be during the night) with a parent's sworn verification.

Also the new teen drivers must complete an approved teen driver education course. Our *6 hours behind the wheel driving with an instructor and 30 hours of class room training does fully satisfy Joshua's Law.

Any new driver who does not complete an approved driver education course must wait until he or she is 17 years of age to get his/her driver license.
