The Driver Education Program taught by Dickerson Driving School, Inc. is licensed by the Georgia Department of Driver Services. The program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of individual, behind-the-wheel training.
Under Georgia law, O.C.G.A. 33-9-42, reductions in insurance premiums shall be available to licensed drivers under 25 years of age, if they have a clean record and successfully complete a driver education program of 30 hours classroom instruction and 6+ hours behind the wheel lessons. Also under code section 48-7-29.5 if a dependent minor child of a Georgia taxpayer completes our driver education program, the taxpayer is entitled to a tax credit of $150.00.
Under state law, individuals under 18 years of age must complete a 4 hour Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program, commonly referred to as ADAP, before a class D driver's license can be issued. The ADAP is included at no additional charge in our 30 hour classroom program.
Students must attend class on time bringing with them a notebook and pen or pencil. Textbooks and all materials will be provided by Dickerson Driving School Inc.
In addition to 30 hours of classroom time, the 6 hours of individual private behind the wheel training is a minimum to receive a certificate of completion for the Driver Education Program. All training vehicles are inspected and certified by the Georgia Department of Driver Services. The vehicles are equipped with dual brake systems and dual mirrors.
